Product Introduction

Introduction

Hot-dip galvanized coil is a kind of anti-corrosion steel product with a zinc layer on the surface of the steel. It is a basic material widely used in construction, automobiles, home appliances, agriculture, and other industries.

Feature

Strong anti-corrosion ability
Hot-dip galvanized coil effectively blocks moisture and oxygen by forming a zinc-iron alloy protective layer and can maintain long-term protection in harsh environments such as humidity, heat, and salt spray, and the anti-corrosion life can reach decades.

High structural strength
The base material is made of low-carbon cold-rolled steel. After annealing and temperature-controlled galvanizing, the yield strength is controlled at 230-450MPa, and the tensile strength can reach 340-550MPa, so that the product has both high strength and good ductility, which is suitable for load-bearing structures or high-strength components.

High forming efficiency
The zinc layer on the surface of the product is lubricating, which reduces the friction and wear of the mold during the forming process. Combined with the finishing treatment, the plate shape is flat, which effectively improves the forming efficiency and product qualification rate of rolling, bending, stamping, and other processes.

Available surface treatments

Passivation Treatment
Passivation treatment forms a dense passive film on the surface of the galvanized layer. This film reduces direct contact between the zinc layer and oxygen or moisture in the atmosphere, effectively slowing down the corrosion process.

Oiling Treatment
Oiling treatment applies a thin layer of anti-rust or lubricating oil on the galvanized surface to protect against corrosion and scratches during storage and transportation. Anti-rust oil isolates air and moisture to prevent corrosion, while lubricating oil reduces friction and improves processing performance. Oiling is often combined with passivation to enhance corrosion resistance and workability.

Paint Sealing Treatment
Paint sealing applies a coating layer over the galvanized surface to create a solid barrier that prevents corrosion. This treatment isolates the steel from air, moisture, and corrosive substances, extending the product's service life. It is commonly used when aesthetic appearance or protection in severe environments is required.

Phosphating
Phosphating improves the bonding strength between steel and coatings and enhances corrosion resistance. However, it is generally unnecessary for hot-dip galvanized steel coils because their zinc layer already provides strong corrosion protection.

Untreated State
Untreated hot-dip galvanized coils have no additional surface treatment after galvanizing. Their corrosion resistance depends mainly on the zinc layer's thickness and composition. These coils are typically used where corrosion resistance is not critical or as raw materials for further processing.

FAQ

Q: Can you provide OEM/ODM service?

A: Yes, we can provide as per your requirement

Q: What are your Payment Terms?

A: Usually TT or LC, other payment terms should be negotiated

Q: Can you provide a sample?

A: Yes, for the regular size samples, it's for free, but the buyer needs to cover the freight cost. For some special requirements, there will be some extra cost, then we can discuss.

Q: What's the MOQ?

A: We have nearly all the sizes we have in stock, so MOQ will be one unit.

Q: How to control the quality?

A: All of our products are strictly tested for quality before loading. If needed, we can also provide a third-party inspection before the loading.

Q: What is Hot Dipped Galvanized Coil?

A: The Hot Dipped Galvanized Coil is a steel coil that has been treated by hot-dip galvanizing. It forms a dense zinc-iron alloy protective layer by immersing the steel strip in molten zinc liquid, which has excellent anti-corrosion performance.

Q: What processing technologies are suitable for hot-dip galvanized coils?

A: It is suitable for a variety of processing technologies such as shearing, bending, stamping, welding, etc. The zinc layer is firmly attached and not easy to fall off, ensuring stable performance after processing.

Q: How to ensure the stable quality of hot-dip galvanized coils?

A: Through the automated production line equipped with a laser thickness gauge and online zinc layer detection, the thickness tolerance and zinc layer uniformity are strictly controlled to ensure consistent performance of batch products.

Q: What are the surface treatment methods for hot-dip galvanized coils?

A: Common ones include passivation, oiling, sealing, and phosphating treatment, and the untreated state can also be selected to meet different transportation and use requirements.

Q: How to store and transport hot-dip galvanized coils to prevent rust?

A: It should be kept dry and ventilated to avoid moisture accumulation; use anti-rust oil or coating for protection, and use waterproof packaging during transportation to reduce surface scratches.
